I’m going to be a Nana!

Baby Gamblin

Can you believe it? My baby girl, who isn’t really a baby anymore, is going to have her own baby in July. She and her husband announced it to closest family the day after Thanksgiving and I was told to keep it a secret until the first ultrasound. Isn’t this exciting? There will certainly be some baby knitting going on in my Nest.

Have you heard of the Harry Potter Knit/Crochet House Cup group on Ravelry? If you’re into a bit of HP fun and meeting lots of new people, come check it out. If you know about it already, you will understand when I say that my OWL is all baby-related.

I will be getting my hair dyed when it’s time to find out the gender of the baby. We will be using the traditional colors for my hair (pink or blue), but the layette will be all kinds of colors (I already have a rainbow rug planned for spring). I will definitely share pictures of my hair when it’s time.

Even with all the excitement around here, I was able to get The Vixen Mitts completed and the pattern is now live on Ravelry. From now until January 10, if you use the “add to cart” option you will get the pattern for $1.50. I’m loving the ones that I have here and I can’t wait to see the ones you make.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned Tour de Sock a time or two. Well, Sarah announced the numbers a couple days ago and we were able to beat the record of donations! Yes, for 2018, the donation was over $18,000! I am so blessed to be part of something so incredible. And, you know this couldn’t have been accomplished without all of you sock knitters, the huge amount of work by the moderators, and the awesome pattern designers and sponsors. Thank you all for being part of such an amazing event.

There are some changes for Cauldron’s Path for 2019 and I can’t wait to share them with you! First, I’ll be spending more time working on each new pattern release so there will only be 8 new patterns this year. I will also be spending a little more time in the studio with more colors and yarn bases. I want to make sure you get the best possible designs, yarns, and extras that I can possibly offer to you.

May you have an incredible beginning of the year!
